Since the very ancient times of the puranik period
and exalted in praise in Vedas and Puranas, the township
of Haridwar is situated in the valley between the foot of Nilgiri
Mountains and Shivalik Hills and on the banks of the Great Redeemer
Ganga River (The Ganges). It has been the greatest pilgrimage of
deeply religious hindus. As is evident the very name of Haridwar
suggests the "Entrance Gate to the paths leading to the lost sacred
and renowned Dhamas (Abodes) of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and
Yamunotri in the region of Gadwal.
Shri Tulsi Manas Mandir situated a the Saptsarover
Marg of the most of scared pilgrim's town of Haridwar, occupies
a significant place in the world of temples not only in Haridwar
but throughout India for its artistic structured and for its social
and spiritual activities. It is not merely a temple but a reflection
of the culture of India. Shri Tulsi Manas Mandir's activities are
not restricted only to prayers and Divine but they also extend to
serving the human kind.
The foundation ceremony of this unparalleled institution
was performed on the 13th April 1980 on the occasion
of the Ardh Kumbh after the sincere and ceaseless efforts of the
Most Reverend His Holiness Balyogi Swami Arjunpuri Ji Maharaj. Today
in this ashram, not only the appropriate hospitality is ceremoniously
offered to the guests, saints and Mahatmas but also the arrangements
are there to serving the cause of education in the form of free
ships given to the bright students that include free education and
books, free board and lodging facilities and all kind of help.
